I have been searching for artists who have done pieces that may relate to my theme to get some inspiration and idea for how to represent people with their spirit animals.
This piece is called "Spirit Animals Collective" by Kozyndan. They have created a piece that looks like a kids school photograph and added their animals. Each child has a different animal, and they are all holding them or the are coming from their chests. I love this was of showing the animal, and it is still in a way that the children are not completely distracted from too.

Paul Romano
Above is a piece by Paul Romano I have found whilst carrying out my artist research for ideas for compositions for my spirit animals. In this piece Paul has drawn a woman laying on a running wolf, I love the composition because it all flows together and works very well. Paul has used dark grey tones, this creates a very soft yet dark atmosphere.
Book research
As I want my piece to have a very earthy feel I thought looking at Wickan and Pagan books would be very helpful, as this is the theme these books seem to follow, containing symbols and depictions of natural objects.
Below are some images of pagan and wickan books that I have found, these all show trees carved of pressed in to them. I love the trees and roots on these, as these give a feel of nature and eathy atmospheres.

Book binding research
Here is a book I have found on Etsy(click here to go to page), this book is a lot tidier than the kind of book that I want to create but I love the general theme of it. I love the clean sanded cover and the metal looking binding they have used.
Here is another found also on Etsy(click here to go to page), I love the leather outside of the book and how it clips closed, I think it looks very rustic yet has quite a clean feel to it.
Book binding research
Centre for Books Arts is a website I have found with interesting techniques of binding books that I am interested in using and may come in handy when I am binding my book.
Book binding research
As I need to gather ideas of how I will bind my book I have been researching artists who have done similar. I want my book to look very old and weathered, with a pagan or witchy feel but not in a dark way. As I am creating a book on spirit animals I want the book to have a spiritual and peaceful feel, using earthy atmospheres.
Above is a book by back2root found on www.deviantart.com. The piece is made from carved wood, and it has a very earthy and natural feel to it, making it appear old and special. This piece has a one of a kind feel to it, showing that a lot of work and effort has been put in to creating it, making it precious.
